Your life is your fault

Everyone Is Brainwashed — How to Take Back Control of Your Life

October 12, 20253 min read

Most people don’t realise it yet, but they’re living on autopilot.
They’re running a program they never chose.

School taught obedience.
Culture taught consumption.
Social media taught comparison.

And now, most people spend their lives reacting instead of creating.

They think they’re chasing freedom — but they’re actually following code.

The Tools You Were Handed

Here’s a truth that changed my life: your life is your fault — not in a way that’s heavy or shameful, but empowering.

We’re all handed a set of tools by the people who raised us.
If your parents used scissors to cut the grass, they’ll hand you the scissors and tell you that’s how it’s done.
Not because they wanted to limit you — but because that’s what they knew.

Some people were handed lawnmowers. Others, scissors.
Different tools, different results, different subconscious programs.

Your current results are not a reflection of your worth — they’re a reflection of your wiring.

The Default Human Loop

For years, I thought I was “winning.”
Up at 5 a.m., Monster in hand, two-hour drive to work, meetings, tasks, training soldiers, gym, football, building a business — repeat.

From the outside, it looked like discipline.
Inside, it felt like emptiness.

I was efficient but emotionless.
Productive but disconnected.

Until someone said to me, “You’ll die in that car.”

They didn’t mean it literally. They meant it as a mirror — showing me how I was living to complete, not living to connect.

The Awakening

Silence used to scare me.
Stillness made me anxious.

If there wasn’t a podcast, music, or movement — I’d fill the space with something else.
I thought I was being productive, but I was actually avoiding presence.

And when I finally stopped running, everything cracked open.

The ego fell apart.
The mind panicked.
The body shook.

But that pain was the beginning of awareness — it stripped away everything that wasn’t real.

And in the chaos, I learned one truth that still anchors me today:

“Being lost isn’t failure. Being lost is freedom.”

Because when you no longer know who you are — you finally get to decide.

The Recode

I used to believe confidence came from doing more.
But doing more only scattered my focus and drained my energy.

True confidence comes from doing less — and doing it with intention.

Alignment over activity.
Presence over productivity.
Truth over ticking boxes.

You can’t FaceTime on a Nokia 3310.
The hardware can’t handle it.

If you want to experience a new reality, you need to upgrade the operating system.
That upgrade starts with awareness.

The Uncommon Framework

Every transformation in my life came back to three words:
Awareness → Action → Alignment.

Awareness is seeing the program.
Action is changing the code.
Alignment is living it until it becomes your default.

That’s how you reprogram confidence.
That’s how you build belief.
That’s how you take back control of your life.

And if you’re ready to rebuild your foundation one day at a time, that’s exactly what The Uncommon 66 was built for — 66 days, 6 habits, 1 new standard of living.

Your Challenge

Take 5 minutes today. No phone, no noise, no distractions.
Just you and a blank page.

Ask yourself:

Am I living the life I’ve designed — or the one I’ve been prescribed?

If the answer is prescribed, that’s okay. Awareness is the first step to rewriting the code.

Because confidence doesn’t come from doing more.
It comes from doing what matters — and doing it with all of you here, now.

You’re not broken. You’re just running old code.
And today, you get to rewrite it.

Welcome back to the game. You’re player one now.

If this hit and you truly want to change the game you are playing, I'd like to offer you a FREE Alignment Call so I can help you build a simple and easy to follow road map of exactly how to do that.
